JOHANNESBURG – The South African government has condemned in the strongest terms possible the latest act of violent aggression carried out by Israeli armed forces along the Gaza border, which has led to the deaths of over 40 people following a peaceful protest against the provocative inauguration of the US embassy in Jerusalem.
In a statement released on Monday evening, the Department of International Relations (Dirco) says: “The latest attack has resulted in scores of other Palestinian citizens reported injured, and the wanton destruction of property.”
It adds: “Given the indiscriminate and gravity of the latest Israeli attack, the South African government has taken a decision to recall Ambassador Sisa Ngombane with immediate effect until further notice.”

In a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement, Israeli military forces are currently conducting a ‘leveling operation’ 300 meters inside Gaza territory south-east of Al Maghazi.
Four tanks and five bulldozers are preparing the ground for what many here expect to be a land invasion in the near future.
Meanwhile, the United Nations observes.
